Dell 5210n Printer - This First-Class Printer Is Easy On The Checkbook
The Dell 5210n laser printer and its associated Dell 5210n toner cartridge are made to work together to provide printing services to networked workgroups. It combines high-speed print output with good-quality printing quality at a list price well under a thousand dollars.
Output capacity. The included 250 sheet paper tray is adequate for most medium-duty printing requirements. It can hold a massive 2600 pages with the inclusion of optional 500 sheet trays. The 5210n is also rated for monthly duty cycles of 200,000 pages, which should be as much as any medium-size workgroup would need under most any circumstance.
Interface Ports. The Dell 5210n laser printer comes standard with the latest USB and Ethernet ports, in addition to an optional wireless 802.11b/g networking adaptor. This will make it quite easy for the IT folks to place the printer into an already-existing workgroup network. Wireless is probably the next wave of networking technologies designed to make it even easier for workgroups to operate.
Quality of Output. Document quality from the printer is good. With 1200dpi, there’s not much to find fault with. Characters look good in black and white, and there’s no bleary-looking printing on the produced document.
What’s the Memory Like? Initially, it comes with about 64MB of installed memory, though that can be easily upgraded to 576MB, which is sufficient to handle most any print job in a medium size network workgroup. Memory’s pretty inexpensive these days, so it may be a good idea to snap some up and install it.
Ease of Utility. The Dell 5210n lets networked workgroups of medium size create print jobs with very little drama. At 40ppm of printed page output, there shouldn’t be much waiting around for a whole print job to appear. If you duplex print, though, output drops by ten pages, to 30ppm. With all the different types of connection ports that come with the printer, finding a good way to interface with the local network should be fairly simple.
Service and Toner Cartridges. The Dell 5210n comes standard with a Dell 5210n laser toner cartridge of 10,000 page capacity. Also, Dell includes 1 year of 24/7 on-site “as needed” service, which can be extended an extra 4 more years, for a charge.
